Why halogen lamps?
Halogen lamps provide brilliant bright light that is as good as natural light for rendering colors. Halogen lamps are especially versatile and have exceptionally long lives – up to five times longer than ordinary light bulbs.
As a professional, you can look forward to beautifully designed halogen lamps in any size. The smallest of them are ideal for providing strong accent lighting in furniture, cabinets and narrow luminaires – and open up new opportunities for luminaire design. Thanks to standardized bases the halogen lamps can be used in almost all luminaires available on the market. Our range includes line-voltage and low-voltage halogen lamps; in other words for applications with and without transformers.
In these times of climate change, the economy of halogen lamps is a major factor. Compared with ordinary light bulbs they can achieve energy savings of up to 30%. Halogen offer many benefits – which is good news for professionals, good news for consumers and good news for the environment
Dwindling resources and a growing population, melting ice caps and rising temperatures mean that today we are all obliged to contribute to protecting the environment. The most important challenge at present is to reduce CO2 emissions in order to halt climate change and protect nature for future generations. halogen lamps are extremely economical of course. Compared with ordinary light bulbs they last twice as long – and provide 100% higher luminous efficacy. Halogen lamps are naturally economical but we have made them even more efficient in terms of their energy consumption and called them ECO versions. With these lamps, man and nature benefit from energy savings of up to 30%
Halogen lamps provide brilliant bright light that is as good as natural light for rendering colors. With a color rendering index (Ra) of 100, the lamps make colors look as vibrant and natural as on a bright sunny day. Our halogen lamps provide constant luminous flux and constant luminous intensity throughout their lives. These values are up to 100% higher than those of ordinary light bulbs. The DECOSTAR ECO lamp for example has a life of up to 5000 hours.
With halogen lamps anyone, can do something to save on CO2 emissions and therefore counteract the greenhouse effect. Thanks to their better luminous efficacy, halogen lamps are superior to ordinary light bulbs anyway. With the ECO versions, which are available for almost all of our halogen product lines. Special innovative infrared coating technology on the bulb reflects heat back to the filament.
Thanks to better luminous efficacy it is possible for example to replace a standard 50 W dichroic reflector lamp with a 35 W ECO. The cost savings are enormous, particularly in commercial buildings – around 6000 euros per year in a store with 300 lamps.
Halogen lamps are real problem solvers whatever the challenge. In our wide range you will find the right lamps wherever you need them for commercial buildings or high-class private homes.
Halogen lamps are available with internationally standardized pin and screw bases, with or without reflectors, for line voltage or low voltage in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, wattages and light colors – in particularly bright, durable, compact and energy-saving versions. Almost all are equipped with UV filters to protect against bleaching as standard.
Halogen lamps enhance any lighting system with their attractive appearance alone. And with their aesthetic and intensive light they are capable of defining spaces and presenting them to best effect. Even rooms that were previously unremarkable are given an attractive and gently modelled atmosphere with halogen light.
Halogen lamps are available of course for line voltage and for low voltage operation. Halogen Bi-Pin lamps comply with the IEC 60598-1 safety standard so they can be used in unshielded luminaires
Halogen lamps are child’s play to install thanks to their internationally standardized screw and pin bases. Maintenance is also easy. And you can upgrade existing luminaires to attractive halogen light – it’s as easy as changing a light bulb.
For all low-voltage halogen lamps we recommend appropriate control
Dimming – convenient and efficient
By dimming the lights you can reduce energy costs since the lamps are supplied only with the power that is actually needed. Conventional transformers have to be operated with leading-edge phase dimmers for inductive loads. Electronic transformers however mostly need trailing-edge phase dimmers.
